Cookies
In mozilla, (I think NS6 too) you can choose to only accept cookies originating from the website you're on... so when it's requesting a cookie from doubleclick, etc. it will be ignored. But that won't stop the X10 banner popups... click on http://www.x10.com/home/optout.cgi?DAY=30&PAGE=http://www.x10.com/x10ads1.htm which will set a cookie to disable x10 ads for 30 days (I think you can edit the ?DAY part for > 30 days, havn't tried though)
