LiveJournal.com has released its weblog software as open source. Not only is LiveJournal.com a free, open source service, its server code is open source, too, allowing people to set up largescale weblog applications and communities for intranets, organizations, etc. It is available at http://www.livejournal.com/code .
We're always looking for more open source developers and coders to join our ranks. If anyone would like to help create some really cool code, my advice would be to get a LiveJournal account, kick it around a bit, and get involved at http://lj_dev.livejournal.com .

Newwwsboy is open source, and has been used to run a few 'blogs other than Flutterby. I've since abandoned it in favor of software I'd love to have someone help me clean-up so that it can be Open Sourced, the down-side is that it requires a host with PostgreSQL backing it.
