Smarting iTools down
| | Just tried to put up a Web site (a family photo album) using Apple's iTools. I created the site already and the files are in the "drive." I just need to find a way to make some kind of URL happen there. I like having the free 20mb of disk space, but right now it looks like I can't expose a directory in the drive as a URL. All I can do is create a "photo album" from their newbie-oriented home page creation template. It's cute but mighty dumb. |
| | If anybody knows a workaround, let me know. |
Mission sort of accomplished
| | Well, we managed to get everything into, or at least in the yard of, the new house. There was a little more storage than we expected, in the back sheds. It also helped that we put so much stuff in those stackable clear container boxes with the red doors on top (that you get for $5.99 ea. at Home Depot). They stacked very nicely in two of the sheds. |
| | The space that will be my office is storage for now. So is the garage, which is really only half a garage (meaning you can park the pack half of a car in it), since the other half was converted into the office. |
| | Anyway, the house needs lots of work. About half the outlets are just two-prong, and some are just empty boxes with wires hanging out. The deck is flat-out rotten. A lot of the drawers in the kitchen need fixing. Stuff like that. |
| | But we'll fix them. Then we'll probably rent it out while we keep the apartment near the beach for the summer. If you're interested in renting a soon-to-be nice place in Montecito, write and let me know. |
