Re: iPhone
I was pretty interested until finding out about some deal breakers like the sealed-in expensive 300-cycle battery and many other locked up aspects of the design. So today I looked into progress on the various Linux phones available now or coming soon. In case you're interested, I could share a few links. My impression so far is that we -might- have some viable open alternatives to the iPhone like openmoko in November. Meanwhile we can wait for iPhone 2, and get serious about comparing the commercial alternatives. I can tell you this Treo 650 is not my favorite phone or PDA among those I've owned.
