Uff da - heavens no! I apologize for giving that impression. I was simply pointing out a glaring weakness in our supposed democratic process. i.e. even if a candidate is extremely popular in pre-primary politics, the masses will never be exposed to him/her if the media doesn't report with an even hand. ( By popular I mean popular with folks that have actually been exposed to the candidate!). The top three candidates from both parties are statists and imerialists (if I might be so brash as to label them). This follows for the 2 parties for a long time.
Hence the entire power structure (current political climate and big media and big corp) become the 'conservative establishment' - whether liberal or conservative or otherwise. Note that the 'power structure' as I've described it does not (in my opinion) reflect the will of the people.
By the time most people get involved in selecting a candidate it is between Republican Droid A and Democrat Droid B.
One can blame the individual voter for coming late to the game - but this starts with apathy towards a political climate that no one trusts anyway. Catchum-22.

Ed
