Thanks for that. For what it's worth, the "no atheists in foxholes" quote was by my father, not me; and I quoted it to help explain his religious beliefs, to the scant degree he revealed them. I should add that he uttered such things half a century ago. He died in 1979 and would be close to a century old, were he alive today. For what it's worth, I think it's possible my father never met, much less knew, a real atheist -- that is, somebody who said he or she was one. There are responses to this message:
