Re: Betting on Obama
I think Obama as president is one of the worst things that could happen to the United States. The general problem in the United States, like in many other countries, is that the political choice is between the bad and the worse: the Republicans are dysfunctional when it comes to individual rights, and the Democrats are worse when it comes to the economy. Probably the best thing that could happen to the United States would be a political leader that would act conservatively on the economy and liberally on personal liberty. Rudy Giuliani and Arnold Terminator might be two people espousing such views. Unfortunately, Arnold can't run, but other than that, Giuliani seems like the most sensible potential candidate for president.
