Bialystock or rather (Bialystok) is a town in Poland, on the north eastern edge of the border. To be from Bialystock is to be a little slow and not very intelligent (not true but it's a polish joke). Anyway, the joke is that people from Bialystock are swindlers. They are backwater peasants who have learned the ways of the people from the Big City (like Warsaw). They are a Big Time wannabes and they will do anything to sound smart but in the end of course they are just people from Bialystock.
