The Revolution Devours Its Own Children
"The teacher projected a browser tuned to Technorati on a screen, clicked on a Top Searches link, and there, at the top of the page, was a blog post that associated my name with death threats."
I'm trying to think of the right literary analogy, where the nicest character in the band of revolutionaries suddenly finds himself falsely deemed, maybe not an Enemy Of The People, but a bloodthirsty cutthroat. It's a shame, in multiple senses of the word.
"Since then perhaps hundreds of thousands of blog postings have dealt with the controversy; yet the ratio of opinion to fact in the case verges on the infinite."
What do you think the blog-evangelism critics have been saying for so long? The bogosphere is not flat - it's full of spikes. Several of which now (metaphorically) have heads on them.
