Re: Tuesday, April 20, 2007
Doc,
I'm always sorry to hear when the herd gets thinned. I don't mean to use the metaphor carelessly. It's apt enough in this time of year to realize our ties to nature and the seasons of life on Earth.
As the world turns us back toward the sun, the horses in the barn on my farm in Canada will wobble forward on legs weak from eating hay all winter and step into pale sunlight through bare trees. As the old people used to say, we should all be thankful that once again we have "made it to the grass".
