What a wonderful tribute to your parents. I read everything you write, even when it goes far, far over my head, but this one hit straight to the heart. Your description reminds me of my grandmother who would be 96 three months from yesterday. There is something great about that generation -- I don't know if it was living through two world wars, surviving childhood in spite of the odds, or just coming from a time that was less complicated, but they had a practical wisdom that stays with me. I only hope I pass that on to my kids, too.
