Day 1.3
| | I'm late getting off to my morning at CES 2007, fighting the terribly slow connection here at the Excalibur. (And this time EvDO isn't helping, either... too many people, too many choking points.) |
Making Mobile Identity happen
| | While VRM is my main project with the Berkman Center, it grows out of a larger focus there on Identity: specifically user-centric identity, or identity that starts with the user rather than with the large organizations that provide us with plastic cards and track us in their marketing databases. |
| | Lots of progress has been made in user-centric identity. But most of it has been on desktops, laptops and in browsers. We need the same kind of progress or a lot more, frankly for our mobile selves. With few exceptions (myself, sometimes), we don't spend our whole lives in front of computer screens. |
