Re: New York from the sky
It's so confusing. When I was growing up in the 50s, there was the bridge that carried Route 9, and maybe 35 as well. It went up and down. Then the Parkway added one next to it. That was the "new" bridge. Kind of a twin of the other one. There were lights on the former one to say which lanes were southbound and which were northbound. I don't know the names of the bridges. To me they were the ones that gave us a great view of the Carborundum plant on the West side toward Sayreville, south of the Raritan.
Since then I've only gone from NY to Red Bank by way of Amtrak, and don't know the new bridges at all. I see the Carborundum plant is long gone.
So I relied on this and other items, mostly in Wikipedia.
Do me a favor. Give me the text that belongs in the descriptions, and I'll put it in there.
Thanks!
