Polar extremes
| | A solar storm is going on right now, mostly visible over northern Russia. Though it's subsided, it might cause auroras in the northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and Alaska later today. Also over the South areas of New Zealand tonight. Look here for more. |
Right vs. Wrong
| | Listened to a little right wing talk radio this morning. (Hit SCAN on your AM dial. Lot of it still there.) Reminded me of the Lily Tomlin line from the Prairie Home Companion Movie. "If this show goes, all you'll hear on the radio are people yelling at ya and computers playing music." |
| | This guy was yelling about The Democrats, and how the Carl Rove was wrong to not make the president fire Rumsfeld before the election, when it was clear somebody needed to go. And how "The Democrats cleaned our clock". |
| | The Democrats didn't clean anybody's clock. The voters did. |
| | I'm not hoping for an end to partisanship. I am hoping for an end to the toxic antagonisms that have harmed political debate for the last couple decades. |
| | I say that as an independent who too often has problems with both sides I need to choose between. |
| | Anyway, I'm hoping to see more dialog and less of what gave us the congress we just threw out. |
| | Whatever happens, I believe the trend is toward more independence by voters. The two major parties would be wise to observe that trend. |
