Flying wide
| | I leave shortly for a week in Boston (with a quick day trip to Philly on Thursday). So weird to be looking out from our new house toward the Pacific, and to know that I'll be looking at the Atlantic when I wake from the redeye. Much as I fly, I'm always fascinated by the miracle of it. |
Strike 1, and out.

Badder up
Pedal to the mettle
At last
| | Well, we're moved. The temporary house, which was supposed to serve us for a few weeks of living out of suitcases, turned into what began to look like an enduring, if not permanent, situation. |
| | But enough of the new place got done, so we made our move on Friday. And Saturday. And today too. The old place is empty, and the new place isn't done. The offices and kitchen aren't finished. Bathrooms lack pieces of plumbing. There's dust everywhere as workers continue to do stuff outside. Our bodies ache, there's no electricity in the garage, and the driveway is choked with boxes and stacks of books and camping gear and other stuff we have no idea where to put right now. But we're here, and it's great to be home. |
