I agree about education and caste systems and boxing-in, which includes non-education too.... Case in point: going way back in time to 1981, here's a discussion my former youthful and blissfully clueless self had with a rural Canadian high school guidance counselor: Me: "I'm considering university, but I'm not sure where I should go, or what degree to pursue. I'm not even sure I should go" Counselor: "did your parents attend University?" Me: "No" Counselor: "Then University is probably not for you." There are responses to this message:
