Wi-Fi
Over the past few months I have been investigating wireless network conncetions. I have several cell phone numbers allready as I supply phones for my neices and nephews while they are in college. Two of them are now graduated and next month the two year contract I have with Cingular will expire. Those phones will be either transferred to their own accounts or turned off.
Saturday I purchased the Cingular 3G Sierra Wireless Air Card which I have installed in my Toshiba Tablet PC. After I "Ran CD First", I activated the phone number and waited twenty minutes for the number to be activated------------zowie!!! An Internet connection speed of 1.8 Mbps.......................................
I do live on the top floor of a condo in downtown Seattle so there isn't any interference except the roof of our house. Tomorrow I will be taking it to work and checking out the signal in Redmond at our WSDOT office.
There is a special Cingular is running, $59.95 per month unlimited usage with the first month free plus a $100 dollar rebate on the $140.00 Sierra Air card.
I will be testing this card for Lynnette and her daughter who are both network administrators at different locations here in Seattle and Napa California.

I am running Windows XP so I don't know if the card or Cingular works on Linux.
