Thanks for the link to Stowe. The hope for a well-ordered humanism is seductive. Hope seems in short supply in today's world, possibly due to struggles engendered by the following:
"Instead, it is about control moving from the central, large, mass-market organizations -- which includes media companies, but also other large organizations, like government, religious organizations, and so on -- out to the individuals -- we, the people -- at the edge."
Stowe's longer, more philosophical view points to a better future for "we, the people," or at least the possibility of one. As a person heading into the seventh decade of my life, I am often disillusioned about the future and almost desperate for the hope that Stowe's view offers.
Is it just me, or do others see his "Centroids" as more akin to Republicans and his "Edglings" more akin to Democrats?
