Relevant Blog Noise
Re the DOD study on blog patterns, there's an interesting thing going on at Relevant Noise. After about a year of setting up "blog mining" capabilities for "business intelligence", their blog is starting to show some examples of fun analyses.
It seems that when bloggers write about drinking, Tea beats Bud, and Atkins and South Beach are battling it out in the blogosphere on the diet front. One of the things that Relevant Noise is trying to do is analyze content for positive versus negative content, to support the abitlity of firms to stay on top of what is being said about them out here.
[Disclaimer: Relevant Noise is a sister company to DigitalGrit, from where I get my paycheck.]
