Nice research tool
 Concordance for Cluetrain.

Sad but typical
... to learn that wwKB, the legendary Top 40 (and, until last month, oldies) station at 1520am out of Buffalo, has dropped music and gone all-talk. Also that Tommy Shannon has retired as well. Tommy was the Hollywood-handsome night jock at KB in the early 60s, as well as the co-writer of Wild Weekend, a familiar top-10 instrumental by the Rockin' Rebels. More here, if you scroll down.

When on Earth?
 WDBS crew, 1975
Surprised I don't have any correct guesses yet on the latest Where on Earth? Clue: It shows up on Google Earth and Google Maps too.
Meanwhile, I just found this photo of the WDBS crew from 31 years (and at least as many pounds) ago. This was shot outside our studios at Bivins Hall on Duke's East Campus.
Looking at some of the other faces in that happy crowd, I can only find a few that show up on the Web. Let's see... there's Celeste Wesson, Hank Kamradt (damn.. he's a real-world-of-warcraft dude), Tom Guild and Steve Tulsky. In fact, I'll be seeing Steve this next weekend.

The original UnCon, 4.0
Dave: Let's do Bloggercon IV. Week of June 19, San Francisco. FWIW, I'll be at an Identity conf at Harvard, from the 19th to the 21st (Mon-Wed).

Makes me feel better about dropping to #143.
 David Sifry:
Technorati currently tracks 35.3 Million weblogs, and the blogosphere we track continues to double about every 6 months...
New blog creation continues to grow. Technorati currently tracks over 75,000 new weblogs created every day, which means that on average, a new weblog is created every second of every day - and 19.4 million bloggers (55%) are still posting 3 months after their blogs are created. That's an increase both absolute and relative terms over just 3 months ago, when only 50.5% or 13.7 million blogs were active. In other words, even though there's a reasonable amount of tire-kicking going on, blogging continues to grow as a habitual activity.
In addition to that, about 3.9 million bloggers update their blogs at least weekly.
 Bonus Link.

Fun training
Mike Arrington says the latest Gillmor Gang, with guest star Hugh MacLeod, was "the most fun I've ever had on a podcast". It was certainly right up there for me too, even though I had to leave before the end.
