Cox Cable and SPAM
Just a little frustration here - I use Spambaynes, an add-in filter for Outlook. Because it "learns" from the spam received it also keeps a running count of all spam. Turns out that over the past 12 months we received 4,663 spam messages (all kinds, and all unwanted). Multiple discussions with Cox have had absolutely no effect other than to waste our time. They assure us that they have "state of the art" filters in place - clearly not true. Our business uses Silicon Beach and we receive no spam - I really mean NONE, so solutions so exist.
Cox was kind enough to ask us to forward all spam to them for "immediate action". The action was to respond with (spam) messages noting that some element of the required data (no Cox Communications ip addresses were found in your email) was missing. Curious, since I can see the IP info in my sent message header and (of course) in my return address.
Conclusion - Cox has no filter and it is a waste of time to attempt to work with them. Essentially they want you to do their homework.
