Hi Doc.
You ask what the internet is. This is the kind of crucial question we need to tackle if we are to have any idea of how to develop the internet, in terms of technical, social and legal aspects.
One thing it is, and that has been largely ignored, is a multidimensional space.
I say largely ignored because we have been constrained to navigate along it using single dimensional links, available only where the author decided to put them.
I blogged about the limit of the link this week end: 'Ending the Tyranny of the Link' http://web.mac.com/liquidizer/iWeb/Hyperwords%20Blog/Blog/8D5283BB-4C9B-4BA1-A538-2FF1236C2F98.html
What do you think, is it time to make the many dimensions of the net available in useful and usable ways?
