Kind of like marriage, only it runs in a browser
| | Just said that, in response to something I overheard here at MashUp Camp. |
Worked for Jericho
| | Also Gchatting with Dan Farber, who is "suggesting" I condense my "Office is Dead" further to appeal to what he calls "us Simpletons." Of course, Dan knows I'm just making this up as I go along, but what he resists knowing is that so does everybody else, including Steve Sinofsky. Steve Sinofsky is a blogger who posts screen shots of the new Office Dead interface, which is confusingly called WIndows Live Mail, when he's not busy being the Office Dead VP in charge of working for Jeff Raikes, now head of the Office Dead Business as Usual division. |
| | That made me laugh so hard the walls shook, and they're 50 feet away. And I hadn't even read as far as this... |
| | Doc's blog appears in news desk chunks, waxing and waning based on a combination of the previous day's unfinished business, continuing thematic excursions, troll maintenance, and link payoffs. No, really. Gatekeeping is a tough job, but someone has to do it. What, you say, does this have to do with Office Deadness? |
| | ... which nearly killed me. |
Bee here now
| | Names for newspapers tend to end with "Times", "Tribune", "Press", "Record", "News"... and the occasional "Globe" or "Republican Democrat". Well, here in California, a few end in "Bee". |
| | Keep that in mind when you check out The Personal Bee, the new conversation-tracking service that creates something akin to your own newspaper around subjects of your choice. |
| | Personal Bee is a product of some folks that include my old pal Ted Shelton, who has put together a Bee for MashupCamp. Check it, and PersonalBee, out. |
On fire
Even better bridge
| | For those interested, all the shots were taken at 1 second with the camera set on full wide angle (equivalent of about 35mm), as it sat on the dashboard looking forward. The ISO speed was 100. |
Bridges at light speed
| | Here's a photoset of my trip from Santa Barbara to Marin yesterday. The best shots are from a wrong turn. I was on the cell phone with Mary Hodder when I missed the exit for 80 East (actually North) off 880, and ended up heading across the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. So I got these 1-second shots on the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge, and then of that tunnel, whatever it's called, on 101 north of the bridge, on my way to Marin. |
The future is here, and some of it isn't working.
| | I said that after the cell connection between Mary Hodder and I was dropped for the third time in a row last night. |
| | Right after we recovered for the last time, I missed my turn and was forced to drive to Marin through San Francisco instead of on the Richmond Bridge, making possible the photos in the post above. |
