You might check out Dock.net ( http://www.dock.net ). They use Verizon's lines, but offer different rates and terms of service. For example, in Verizon Coverage areas they offer 3.0Mbps/768Kbps for $54.95 per month with 8 static IP addresses and no blocked ports. I use them, and have been very happy except that the DSL modem seems to lock up (requiring a power cycle) every couple of weeks. To be fair, their tech support has offered to help diagnose the problem, but I just haven't taken the time. There are responses to this message:
