Later
| | We (yours truly and several thousand other souls in a boat the size of a city) are somewhere off the Western tip of Cuba, making our way toward the Cayman Islands, where we'll do touristy stuff tomorrow. A few people are seasick from the rocking motion of the boat, which is mild compared to some of what I've experienced before on cruises like this one ¡ and nothing compared to the pictures a guy just showed me, of another Carnival ship heading out of Hurricane Rita's way. The huge ship is riding over swells that make it look like a bass boat. Looking at those gives me equal amounts of respect for the boat and sympathy for its occupants. |
| | Connectivity here is expensive and inconsistent, so I probably won't have much more to report for awhile. |
