Arkansaw: We aren't big, but we sure are varied
Doc, What part of rural Arkansas are we talking about? We're a varied place. My mom's folks' part? (And where I'd like to live.) Where my dad grew up, and my wife's folks live right now? (See Harrington's Let Us Build Us A City chapter on Bear City--and you ought to read him, 'cause he's a great writer.) Where my dad's parents moved, and where they lived out the ends of their lives? Where we are a third-world country? (It's a good school, but it's in the midst of the sort of poverty Americans like to pretend doesn't exist, or if it does, it's not their fault, or if it is, they don't give a damn.)
