Credit Cards
Easiest way to change an address is to steal your mail. I've gone all electronic on my statements, but every now and then the idiots at the ccard companies send me paper ones (which can be lifted, filled out with a new address, and sent back).
Second choice is someone copied or obtained your personal details somehow. Like a waiter who read the numbers + the 3 digit code on the back and called in to change them.
Low-tech identity theft is still more common than high-tech lifting, last I checked. I've had my details swiped three times over 15 years, and all turned out to be human theft (mailbox, and two crooked bastards at Comcast).
One interesting note: if you report this fraud to the credit bureuas (which I recommend) you go on the "suspect" list which means credit card companies WILL NOT mail you offers for new cards (a few slip through, but we're talking about an 80% reduction in junk snail mail). Not exactly a bad thing.
