Re: Constructive Conversation??
Well, there's progress and there's progress.
I've heard countless success stories from individuals in business who claim to have been inspired by Cluetrian, or who credit some form of progress to Cluetrain. And I think a lot of what we called for in Cluetrain actually happened in the last presidential election. The Bush conversation beat the Kerry conversation, ultimately. One reason the Kerry conversation lost to the Bush conversation was that it failed to learn from the best of what had worked for the Howard Dean campaign. Also, IMHO, there wasn't a single strong candidate on the Democratic side anyway. Still, learning happened.
Hey, maybe this would have happened without Cluetrain. Not sure it would be the same, though.
I'd rather let others answer for the rest of it.
And you're right: we do need more political action. The Grokster decision yesterday was pretty nasty, and moves us toward a Hollywood-modeled 'permission society' (as opposed to a free one), methinks.
As for your last question, I just set up a place to talk about its, over at IT Garage.
