Thanks for the link to Andrew Sullivan. Great stuff.... I am still a recovering Catholic and unlike you have not found my way back in. I'm eager to hear Raztinger's thoughts on the abuse scandal...the number one reason why I'm not involved with the church anymore. JPII had a HUGE opportunity to be a hero to the world, do the right thing and put his papal foot down, hard, and proclaim zero tolerance to clergy abuse, not in this church, not under his watch. And he didn't do it. He preferred to keep it an "internal matter." And just like shuffling around the pedophile priests, he shuffled Bernard Law to Rome. Will Benedict, the hardliner, take a hard line approach to the one issue the Church desparately needed to take the hard line on? I guess we'll see. Meanwhile, my faith is a personal matter not affiliated with any church.
