should you find yourself at that intersection again, make sure to cross the street and grab a bite at Pie and Burger. talk about a place with core competencies: they pretty much just do burgers (veggie too) and homemade pies, and still serve up Cokes and Root Beer by pumping syrup in a glass, then mixing in some soda water, and stirring it with a spoon. if i move back from the UK, it's likely to be because of that joint. well, that, or breakfast at the Pork Store in SF.
