I think 40Gb is plenty. I just know that when something new comes along, the rest of the line gets cheaper. :-)
Which iRiver do you recommend?

I would say that the iFP-899 is the best, as far as it's small size, although it "only" has 1Gb of memory. If I had my choice (and the money to spend), I'd get the PMP-140.
I own an iFP-190T and although it's really good, there's no external mic input and due to the design it "rattles", and I would recommend the iFP-899, instead.

Thanks for the link. I hope the bitgrid concept makes some sense to you. If not, I'll keep trying until I get the explanation right. 8)
