Almost in time...
| | ... for the biggest day of the year for buying future garage sale fodder: |
Be Who Now
| | What's your i-name? is my latest over at Linux Journal. I think the subject could hardly be more important, because without what it advocates identity services that grow as grass roots, up from customers, rather than down from suppliers the demand-side power of markets, which we described more than five years ago in The Cluetrain Manifesto, will remain more ideal than real. |
Higherway
| | So I'm sitting here in a hotel off The 101 (as we Southern Californians call it; it's just "101" elsewhere), with my trusty access point plugged into the free broadband. I just tested the speed. It's a T-1, I'd guess: 1374 kbps down, 1359 up. Nice. On the up side, that's more than 4 times faster than Cox gives me on my unrestricted "business" (translation: assigned IP addresses and no blocked ports) line at home. |
| | So, with the sound of trucks and traffic roaring outside the window, I've been wondering why, in spite of all the hype, the term "information superhighway" never caught on. |
| | I have some thoughts about that. But I'm busy leaving, so I'll save them for later. The rest of ya might have some notions though. Be curious to see what you think. |
