Podcasting is less important than the actual creation of the recording
Doc, maybe this is what you are saying, but it seems to me that the important thing here is not the 'casting' part of Podcasting, it's actually the recording part of it, the creation of the content. There's no cool word for this yet, but maybe "amateur radio" captures it (because only us fogies remember the original meaning of that :-).
