That map
I think I spent about an hour looking at that map. It's simply amazing. You can almost pick out every major university town in the America, simply by finding the few blue spots in an ocean of Red. USA Today has more numbers on this map: Square Miles of counties won Bush 3.28 million Kerry 741,000 Population (2003) of counties won Bush 150,9 million Kerry 103.6 million Anyway, I'm seeing two responses from blog world--contempt or recognition. In the contempt I'm hearing "stupid" mentioned most commonly, which I assure you will ensure a Cheney or Delay or something even more insane in 2008. In the "recognition" I'm seeing some people say "you know, Michael Moore wasn't as important as The Passion of the Christ" and realizing that many religious types have simply lost touch with the Democrats. I think I'll wait a few weeks to let the bitterness die down. There might actually be some interesting ideas coming out in the next few months, after the bile subsides...
