Re: blogging for money
You've got me thinking. Questions for the session...
- Do bloggers need a chinese firewall?
- Is it possible for a person to keep things separate?
- Is it desirable?
- Do you choose your sponsors for their ethics? Would you want to make money from slavery, murder for hire, or a genocide support society?
- Journalists take assignments, and get paid to cover those stories. Would you blog about something if paid for it?
- What IP from your blog would you give up for money? Would you sell the movie rights? Book rights? The right for someone else to use it on a commercial web site?
- Would you take an academic grant if it came with strings? What strings could you live with?
- What is the difference between advertisers picked by Google and advertisers picked by you?
- What is the difference between sponsors, underwriters, and advertisers?
- Would you take an ad for a charity if that money was the only thing keeping your blogging bills afloat?
