Google Search probably is bad news for companies like X1, since it's name recognition will put a damper of competitive development.
Which is too bad because I think X1 does one thing well that other companies (Google, Copernic, etc.) aren't focusing on: searching/displaying many different file formats. Copernic and Google seem to only handle a handful of file formats including only a couple of the most common Microsoft documents. If you don't work exclusively in Word and Outlook, there is likely to be quite a bit of content that isn't returned during a search. X1 isn't perfect -- very resource-intensive which seems to bog down my PC -- but it searches (and can display) a LOT more file types. Seems the trend in search products is to ignore all but the most common file types, much in the same way that they're ignoring alternate platforms.
