No, that's the sequel
| | So an old friend, here at the beach, says What was that book you helped write? The Cluestone Manifesto? |
Nothing can be finer than to 'Fi in Carolina
| | The beach house has Wi-Fi. Does that rock or what? We wardrove coming down here, and hardly encountered a signal until we drove down Ocean Drive in Emerald Isle and suddenly encountered a "Carolina Breeze" ESSID. Voila! It was the house we were renting. |
| | Alas, there was a signal from the hotspot (a generic Linksys), but the cable modem's little cable light blinked slowly, indicating an insufficient signal condition. Some research this morning isolated a popped ground fault switch in the outlet under the house that powered the cable booster/splitter. Fixed the problem, and all the laptoppers were on the air. |
| | What a difference from the old beach house phone systems, which embodied so much paranoia about expensive unauthorized use that they were all but unusable for dial-up. Now the Net is one more grace for guests. And for some of us, a big one. |
Glog
| | It's too perfect here at the beach to blog. Waves are big, but not too big. Water's warm. I'm heading in. See ya later. |
