Just got wi-fi up and running at the Digital ID Management Summit here in London. The connection is the conference's. The hot spot is the one I usually carry along to these things. Took awhile to find a power supply that ran off of 220 instead of 110. Now we're cooking.
Slowly. Oddly, the tested speed is 792Kb downsteam and 1152Kb upstream, a reverse of the customary asymmetry. Even though ping times are good, with little latency and no packet loss, a lot of pages take a long time to load. Something seems to be missing.
Still, it's working. Which is good.
[Later...] Got tech support by IM from Dave Sifry. A DNS fix. Now it rocks.
