How to get a chip made?
I've been sitting on a rather obscure but unique idea for a chip design since my aborted college days. The question is, how the heck does one go about actually getting chips made? I want to build a grid of single bit processors into a 2d fabric. Programming would consist of a state table for each cell. Operations could clock data in one side, and out the other in a pipeline fashion. It's realistic to imagine real time handling of 2Gigasamples/second or better for digital radios, just as one possible application.
