The dot.com flameout of Dean in the Post
The Washington Post is reporting on the dot.com flameout of Dean, and what it means for Internet politics. I've always feared one political party or side getting too associated blogging or net contributions or GPL or creative commons (i.e moveone.org). Washington is a tremendously partisian town, and if something gets too associated with one person, the other side will dance in glee at not only the candidates death, but the medium as well.
If it works (online contributions) you can and will see it on all sides. If it falls apart as a candidate fails (and a majority of candidates do fail) then it will be harder to resurrect. I hope the blog community will quickly stop harping on the death of Dean (and yes, he's toast, especially in the bandwagon that is party politics) and start triumphing the fact that other candidates are using the same medium.
