Dean Unspooled
First, kudos for getting the internet and politics closer together this season. The media has been all over itself saying the internet is to Dean what TV was to the Nixon/Kennedy era debates. Well Nixon's five o'clock shadow is back. Dean unspooled the other night. I'm nonpartisan as well, though lean Demo. Dean used the internet as a tool in the best grassroots, pre-launch, networked way he could. He had the Blair Witch buzz going. Then the movie opened. Less than expected box office. Then the director unspooled. Future politicans will learn. The ying will be the grassroots support. The building of the buzz. The two way communications. The building the network. The yang will be moveon.org. Then opening day when decisions are made, and actions are fully accountable. Though, I think that odd little Ed Grimley-like grin Dean has might still help propel him forward in the race towards November...I must say.
