Alienate the Center and Lose
If it's representative, the snippet from "Diary of a Dean Intern" is evidence of the fact that at least one Deaniac doesn't get it. If the Dean campaign honestly believes that a left-wing Democrat, running as a left-wing Democrat, has a chance of being elected president, they'll continue to lose. Politicians. from any part of the spectrum, can't win if they alienate the center. Perhaps Dean ought to more accurately be called the candidate of the alientated.
