17" of darkness
| | So I'm outside with the kid attempting to do astronomy, like we do every rainless night, with the help of this here 17" PowerBook. Yesterday I finally installed Panther on the thing, and ... the keyboard no longer lights up in the dark. In fact, the feature appears to have been disabled in the beta and never enabled in the general release. A major oversight, I'd say, if that's what's going on. (Specifically, it gives me one of those circle/slash can't-do-this symbols.) |
| | Anybody know what's going on here? Am I missing something? A new control panel "feature" or whatever? |
| | [Later...] Now I'm inside, under partial (low) light in the living room, and it's working again.. Weird. Still, definitely different behavior than I had under Jaguar. |
Pokey, man
| | The kid wanted to lean how to play Pokémon, so I copied the rules from here and here. |
| | Spent many hours trying to learn and apply them. I think I got most of them down except for this one rule, or lack of one... |
| | Do you have to play a card ... or do anything, with every turn? Or can you just pass after taking a card from your deck? Like, say, you have no cards in your hand, and pull a Trainer card from your deck. Do you have to play that trainer card now? |
| | I don't really give that big a shit, but I've got a seven-year-old guy here who is taking the whole matter very seriously. |
