Moore's law for software?

Hi Doc -- Can't really be a Moore's law for software - it's art, as Dave Winer takes repeated pleasure in pointing out. There's no Moore's law for art.
Anyway, Moore's law gets referenced too often - esp. by such as Ray Kurzweil. My new computer may be a buzzillion times faster/cheaper than the first one I bought o so long ago, but does it really do a buzzillion times more for me? It does much more, sure - but it doesn't follow Moore's law. It wasn't Moore's law that made the Macintosh a better computer than the PC.
