It was weird. I only found out much later that there was a fire near Simi Valley (later at least two). Nothing on any station on any medium, including the nominal news channel, KVTA/1520 AM. Channel 39 from San Diego was reporting on enormous fires northeast of there that nobody else mentioned. It took a long time before KNX covered anything but the Grand Prix fire.
