Re: Nation Building Credentials
James is on target about U.S. nation building credentials. Most our complaining allies have a lot of nation destroying experience, though I'm also pretty sure that the Bush administration believes the UN would build an Iraq that offers sanctuary to all sorts of nasty people, whether out of weakness or explicit connivance. These are people the U.S. wants to be sure aren't part of Iraq's future. Odds are, the administration will leave this an unspoken policy.
