Rationing hope
| | Anyway, I'm sitting here in San Francisco, at a Starbucks on Van Ness, killing a few minutes between apointments, with the voice of Britt in my left ear (via cell), spelunking for an answer to the question I was prestented yesterday by a friend whose libertarian core is a lot harder than mine: "How can you, as any kind of libertarian, have any kind of interest in Howard Dean?" And Britt just gave me the reason, along with his answer to a question of mine, which was "What do people get when they write checks, or click the Donate button, over and over again, to contribute to the Howard Dean campaign?" |
| | Britt said, "They're buying hope, one month at a time." |
