Re: Monday, August 25, 2003
Dear Doc:
I was deeply moved by your comments on the value of family pictures. Both my parents are gone now and I can visit them only in photos and dreams.
Recently a cousin (the only one who's older than me) sent me an envelop of photos he had come across, to look through and distribute to other family members. What a treasure trove! There we were, babies and children, mothers and grandmothers, aunts and uncldes, as we used to be. I had a wonderful time seeing some of my cousins to share the photos (and the stories they reminded us of) and sending others off with notes and stories.
Thank you for sharing your grief and your joy of living with all of us. That is an aspect of the web we don't see enough of. We should do it more. And may the good memories of your mother and your family stories provide you with much comfort.
Amy Wohl
