Gov. Dean's blog
I sent this to Mitch Ratcliffe in response to his post about Gov. Dean and attack blogging. I forgot to mention there that I have no affiliation with any website that discusses Dean and I don't have a strong opinion on his candidacy. This is just for the sake of accuracy.
Edit: Also for the sake of accuracy, I should point out that I got confused about which TNR I was talking about. That should read The New Republic, not The National Review. Oops.

I'm not sure you (or The National Review) are accurate in your criticism of Gov. Dean's attack blogging tactics. By all appearances, dean2004.blogspot.com is not affiliated with the Dean campaign. The official Dean blog is deancalltoaction.blogspot.com. It's somewhat less interesting, but so be it. Dean 2004 is very aggressive, but that doesn't really make it any different than any other political blogger. Dean Call To Action seems to limit itself to talking about Dean and doesn't respond to press coverage in a hostile way.
Independent blogs raise a campaign finance issue. Does Dean 2004 qualify as speech on behalf of the candidate, and if so, what sort of financial contribution should Dean have to report because of the blog?
