Re: Thursday, May 29, 2003
A correction: Newspaper ownership never has been regulated in any way, and thankfully never could be regulated under the Constitution. Newspaper publishers are disqualified under certain circumstances from holding certain spectrum licenses, but that's a function of regulating spectrum, not of regulating newspapers. In any case, as many others have pointed out, the current debate really only distracts people from the urgent issue of ending artifical spectrum scarcity and the outmoded arbitrary regulatory regime it requires. That fight will make this debate seem tame.
